I'm sitting in an auditorium listening to David Culler talk about computer systems. More to come later...David Culler's homepage.

I wonder if anyone ever reads this? Well, if they do they will see that today and most of this weekend, I'll be quite busy trying to keep up with the mad pace at work. I am trying to get the automation scripts done for the miner testing, finish indexer testing for Tram (with a new binary every day), work on some miner testing for Mr. Gibson, finish Joiner testing, and start the incremental indexer testing. I also have to help out with the gateway testing after the gateway has been pushed over to production. After everything is done, if I still have time, I would like to pick up where I left off as far as automating the front end testing with Rational Robot. But like many things, I can't get everything I want. I'll get there eventually...

I finally finished updating the user test cases and I'd like to email them out to Madhu right now but my lotus notes mail server seems to be down right now. I guess our sys admins don't expect us IBMers to be trying to send email at 11 pm on Saturday night. Well they are wrong! I guess I'll send it out tomorrow. Time to go write some code.

This is an interesting article. Yahoo! News - San Francisco Becomes Fastest-Shrinking U.S. City I guess the bay area is going down population-wise. In the article they only talk about jobs. But jobs are only part of the equation. This is an expensive place to live. I think a lot of people of people are leaving even though they already have jobs because they can buy the same house somewhere else for less money. In other news Christina is talking about buying a cabin near Lake Tahoe or a Duplex in Sacramento. Now is a good time to do it, but then again if you don't have the money to do it right now then it isn't really a good time to do it is it? :-)

Let's see, what am I working on right now... At the moment I am doing some indexer testing for Tram. I am going to try to finish my part of this by tonight. After that I am going to see if Long was able to get the newest joiner build up and running in staging. That way I can send it queries through the front end to get a lot of variables tested rather quickly. After that I need to follow Anit's instructions on how to install and test an incremental indexer. Hopefully testing the incremental indexer will be as easy and fast as Joerg says it should be. After that I should work on the perl scripts to automate the miner testing, then do the same for the services. Also, I would like to spend some time working with Rational Robot to automate the front end testing. I am almost to where I need to be with Rational Robot, but I need to get to know a few more features before I can really unleash it on the front end. All in all I would say that it would be wise to do a little bit of work this weekend.

I don't know if non summitpost members can get to this mountain site, but this is for Mount Ritter. Forrest is planning on going there this weekend. I'd really like to go but it is looking a lot like I am going to have to work this weekend. And I also have a lot of things to do around the house. I should make a lot of progress on unpacking boxes and cleaning before I can go anywhere. SummitPost.com - Mount Ritter Climbing Information

Well this week I am working on automating the testing of the miners. I am also going to have to retest the Indexer and Joiner in addition to working on automating the front end testing. Work just keeps stacking up. I should also work on the test plan for Project 2.
